Up-and-coming guard Myles Jones commits to Stanford men’s basketball

Stanford has secured a commitment from 3-star guard Myles Jones.

On Sunday, Jones announced his commitment to Stanford men’s basketball via Instagram following an unofficial visit to the University at the end of August. Jones is the team’s first 2026 commit.

Standing at 6-foot-3, Jones hails from Modesto Christian High School in Modesto, Calif., where he is coming off a strong junior season. Jones averaged 12.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game for Modesto Christian last season.

His sharpshooting from beyond the arc stood out. He shot 43% from three-point range, a figure that would have placed him just behind former Stanford standout Brandon Angel, who led the Cardinal in three-point shooting last season before transferring to Oregon.

Defensively, Jones made his presence felt with 1.4 steals per game, which bodes well for a program in need of 2-way guards.

Jones chose Stanford over offers from Montana, Weber State, Sacramento State, and the University of San Francisco, among others.
